Wild Days Lodge Forest Pre-school

The Lodge was built around 1880 and was the original gatehouse for the Nottingham Borough Lunatic Asylum.

The hospital was extended in 1889 and joined the NHS in 1948 as Mapperley Hospital.

In the 1960's the lodge became the base for the groundsmen and gardeners and this continued until the 1980's.

We have no further information at present, we were told that the building had been boarded up for 20 years and no one had been in since, which is probably why a tree was growing out of the roof.

Please let us know on our contact page if you have any historical information we can add.
